Let’s Eat!
What does it mean to live consciously? Do you often find yourself in a daily routine that is so automatic you don’t even think about what you are doing or why? To live consciously is to live in the present directly through our senses making thoughtful and deliberate decisions without the influence of our subconsciousness, habits, society and the environment. Holistic health considers the ‘whole’ person including environmental and lifestyle factors that can influence their well-being.
Unfortunately, no matter where we are, we all live in a toxic world. We are exposed to external toxins every day in amounts that far exceed anything in history. Some of these toxins are obvious that we try to avoid, or others that we are completely oblivious to and so unknowingly our bodies become contaminated. We have some control over what we eat and drink, but it is very difficult to control our exposure to toxins in the air.
We cannot completely eliminate our exposure, but through mindful lifestyle choices we can reduce and manage the effects to our mind, body, soul, and our planet. I will guide you to simple ways and alternatives you can incorporate into your home, kitchen, and workspace that offer a clean, safe, and affordable space for you and your family.
Deciding to live consciously could be the single most important thing you do. Are you ready to be present?
Embrace your purpose!
Here’s a little taste of Italy. I love Italian food but I don’t like so much heavy pasta. This dish offers all the savory herbed flavors of Italian cooking without all the heavy starches, and contains rich nutrients and fiber in the vegetables, and topped with a creamy sauce that will replace your traditional cheese sauces. The pesto will bring it all together with the aromatic goodness of garlic and basil. Now that’s Amore!
I am very thankful to have found Miriam and her wealth of knowledge. Initially I had contacted her to help me create a nutritionally sound diet for my daughter who was on the high school swim team. My daughter is naturally thin and I wanted to be sure she was getting enough calories/nutrition during the race season. What I discovered was that we were not eating enough vegetables, and we ate TOO much sugar. (Once you start reading labels you discover that it is in almost everything that is processed.) But, with Miriam’s guidance, we are making changes and feeling great about the food we put in our body. We are also growing veggies and herbs. I have had great success with recipes she has shared. Her enthusiasm for what she does has given me the desire to choose healthier foods for my family.

By the time Miriam asked me to fill out the health forms, I had become aware of what bad habits I had acquired over the years! I realized that I needed to change my decision making about what I put in my mouth. It has become a second nature to read nutrition facts of any packages I pick from the grocery food stores. I got in a habit to eat more fresh vegetables and fruits and less processed dairy products. Now sprouted or toasted oats with fresh berries and almond milk and cinnamon have become a part of my breakfast. Kale, Quinoa salads have become important lunches replacing fried foods. Detoxifying process by using right food choices has become a conscious effort. Most important fact is that, under Miriam’s guidance I stopped taking daily dose of 20MG Omeprazole for acidity, which was irritating my stomach lining. Fortunately my primary doctor agreed with this decision too. Maintaining A1C sugar factor is still a struggle but I am very sure that it will level off eventually by continuing living consciously as Miriam has coached.
